Stapelia 'Grandiflora'

Stapelia grandiflora, commonly known as the Giant Toad Plant, Carrion Flower, or Starfish Flower, is a unique flowering succulent native to South Africa. It forms a low, spreading clump of thick, angular, green stems and produces spectacular star-shaped flowers that can reach 6–8 inches across. The flowers are typically reddish-brown to purple and covered with fine hairs. Pet Friendly: Yes. Stapelia grandiflora is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a good choice for pet-friendly homes. 

Hardiness Zones: USDA Zones 9–11. It is not frost tolerant, so plants grown outdoors in colder climates should be brought indoors before temperatures fall below about 40°F. Light: Full sun to partial shade; provide some protection from intense afternoon sun in very hot climates. Water: Low to moderate. Allow the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings and reduce watering during cooler winter months. Size: Approximately 6–12 inches tall, with clumps that can spread 1–3 feet wide under good growing conditions.
