String of Bananas, is an exceptional trailing plant that can grow stems over 3.0' in length. Native to South Africa, Lesotho, and Namibia, it is typically found in sandy, rocky soil and establishes roots in various locations along its path. String of Bananas is a popular addition to arrangements, providing a unique contrast to traditional rosette-shaped succulents. Its elongated stems are adorned with banana-shaped leaves, each featuring a translucent crescent or "leaf window" to facilitate sunlight absorption. From October to December, the plant produces small, fragrant white flowers that emit a scent reminiscent of cinnamon. With proper care, this plant is a relatively fast grower, thriving in high heat and tolerating extended periods of drought. However, it is susceptible to frost and does not do well in full sun with high heat.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. Fragile: leaves may curl, fall off, or bruise during shipping. Will recover with proper light, water, and leaf shedding.
