Sempervivum 'Pacific Plum Fuzzy'

Sempervivum 'Pacific Plum Fuzzy' (Gossett) is a succulent with a fuzzy rosette and a striking maroon and shamrock green coloration. Its leaves are adorned with a dense growth of silvery cilia under intense sunlight. This plant prefers ample outdoor sunlight for optimal color and a compact rosette shape. It thrives in well-draining, gritty soils and containers with drainage holes. New offsets, called "chicks," are produced on stolons and can be left to create neat clusters or detached for sharing and transplanting. Sempervivum shows the most growth in spring and summer and thrives with weekly watering and afternoon shade in temperatures above 80F. It is highly resilient to frost and can survive winter with the protective layer of snow. To avoid rot, protect from heavy rains and standing water.
