Sempervivum 'Black'

Sempervivum 'Black' features bright green rosettes that are beautifully contrasted by purple-black tips. This cultivar displays its darkest color in colder temperatures and is often accompanied by delicate white flowers.

 After flowering, the rosette will die. To prevent rot, it is recommended to use a layer of gravel top dressing between the soil and the leaves, especially for webbed varieties. Sempervivum primarily grow during the spring and summer and thrive with weekly watering and partial shade in temperatures above 80F. These plants are highly resilient to frost and can withstand winter months under a blanket of snow. However, to prevent rot, it is important to protect them from heavy rains and standing water.
