Sansevieria robusta is a striking, upright snake plant known for its strong, sword-shaped leaves and sturdy growth habit. The thick, architectural foliage typically features deep green coloring with attractive horizontal banding, creating a bold tropical appearance while requiring very little maintenance. Its upright form makes it an excellent choice for containers, offices, living spaces, and modern plant displays. Provide bright, indirect light for the best growth, although it can tolerate lower-light conditions, and allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. A fast-draining soil mix is especially important to prevent root rot.
Pet friendly: No. Sansevieria (now botanically classified as Dracaena) contains saponins and is considered toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Chewing or consuming the leaves may cause vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, or other digestive irritation.
Hardiness:USDA Zones 9–11. Sansevieria robusta is sensitive to frost and prolonged cold temperatures. In cooler climates, it is best grown as an indoor plant or moved to a protected location when temperatures approach freezing.
