In warm climates, it can reach a height of 4 feet as a dense shrub if planted outdoors. When kept in a small pot indoors, it remains a small bonsai plant. This plant is native to South Africa and Swaziland, where it thrives on sunny and rocky slopes. Interestingly, it has a symbiotic relationship with elephants as they sometimes eat its branches and their trampling helps propagate new shrubs from stem cuttings.
