Peniocereus serpentinus, also known as Nyctocereus serpentinus, is a rapidly growing cactus that produces offshoots at the base, creating a cluster. With slender, cylindrical stems that can reach heights of 20 feet (6 m) and a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm), it features 10-17 distinct ribs with grooves between them. As the stems lengthen, they lean to the side unless supported. Along the ribs, clusters of 9-14 needle-like spines can be found, initially reddish-brown with dark tips, but gradually whitening with age. The flowers bloom at night, and are funnel-shaped white blooms that can measure up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length and 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. Let soil dry completely between watering.
Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
