Parodia mairanana
Parodia mairanana
Parodia mairanana is a small, globular cactus species native to Bolivia, particularly around the Mairana region, from which it gets its name. It features a rounded, often solitary body covered in numerous tubercles with short, golden to reddish spines that give it a softly spined appearance. In summer, this species produces vibrant yellow flowers at the crown, which contrast beautifully against the green body and bright spines. Like other Parodia species, it thrives in well-draining soil, bright but indirect light, and benefits from minimal watering during its winter dormancy. Its compact size, colorful blooms, and ease of care make Parodia mairanana a delightful choice for both beginners and seasoned cactus enthusiasts.
