Notocactus uebelmannianus

Notocactus uebelmannianus, also known as Parodia uebelmanniana, is a small, globular cactus species native to southern Brazil. It is admired for its bright green, spherical body and beautifully arranged ribs, which are adorned with clusters of short, golden-yellow spines. One of its most striking features is its vivid, metallic magenta to purple flowers that bloom at the top of the plant, typically during the spring and summer months. These flowers are large relative to the body and add dramatic color to any cactus collection. Notocactus uebelmannianus prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil, and it benefits from a dry winter rest to encourage blooming. Its compact size and colorful display make it a favorite among both novice and experienced growers.
