Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is a popular and widely cultivated cactus species native to Paraguay and parts of northeastern Argentina. It is typically small and globular, reaching about 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter, with a dark green to gray-green body and well-defined ribs lined with short, curved spines. The plant is best known for its striking flowers, which are usually pale pink or light purple and bloom from the crown during the growing season. A famous mutant form of Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, known as the "Moon Cactus," lacks chlorophyll and displays vivid colors like red, orange, or yellow. These colorful mutants are commonly grafted onto other cactus species to survive, making them a favorite in ornamental plant collections. Like most Gymnocalyciums, this species prefers bright, indirect light, minimal watering, and well-draining soil.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
