Ferocactus emoryi ssp. rectispinus is a striking variety of the Emory’s Barrel Cactus, native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. This subspecies is known for its tall, cylindrical shape, which can reach up to 4 feet in height, and its impressive spination. The body of the cactus is typically green with subtle blue undertones, and it is adorned with long, stout, and straight spines that radiate out from the tubercles in a unique, almost vertical pattern—hence the name rectispinus, meaning "straight spines." These spines, along with the cactus's bold appearance, give it a distinctive and dramatic look. In summer, Ferocactus emoryi ssp. rectispinus produces large, vibrant yellow flowers with red centers that bloom from the crown, adding a pop of color to its spiky form. This cactus thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it an ideal addition to arid landscapes and succulent collections. Its rugged beauty and substantial size make it a standout choice for cactus enthusiasts.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
