Euphorbia trigona, also known as the African milk tree, is an evergreen succulent native to Central Africa. Its milky sap and white, milky appearance give it its name. The branches of this plant are lined with short, prickly spines and resemble three winged angles. With its vibrant purple-red stem and leaves, Euphorbia Rubra stands out, while Euphorbia Trigona has a unique bronzish hue. Its teardrop-shaped leaves are a bright red and last for one to two seasons.
Be aware that the sap of this plant is toxic and should not be touched by children or pets. If you happen to come into contact with the sap while handling the plant, wash your hands right away.
