Euphorbia stenoclada
Euphorbia stenoclada
Euphorbia stenoclada is a striking, spiny succulent shrub or small tree native to Madagascar, known for its dramatic, candelabra-like structure and fierce, thorn-covered branches. Growing up to 6–8 feet tall (sometimes taller in the wild), it has bluish-gray, angular stems with prominent spines and very small or absent leaves, giving it a skeletal, architectural appearance. This drought-tolerant Euphorbia thrives in hot, dry climates and prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Like other Euphorbias, it produces a toxic, milky latex sap that can irritate skin and eyes, so care should be taken when handling. Euphorbia stenoclada is a great choice for xeriscapes, arid gardens, or as a bold structural accent in large containers.
