Euphorbia mauritanica 'Pencil Milkbush' is a unique and sculptural succulent shrub native to southern Africa, celebrated for its slender, pencil-like green stems that create a striking, airy appearance. This drought-tolerant plant can form dense, rounded clumps and brings architectural interest to xeriscapes, rock gardens, or modern landscapes. Unlike leafy succulents, Euphorbia mauritanica relies on its smooth, segmented stems for photosynthesis, and it may produce small, yellow-green flowers at the tips in spring. It thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, requiring minimal water once established. As with most Euphorbias, care should be taken when handling, as it exudes a milky sap that can be irritating to skin and eyes.

Be aware that the sap of this plant is toxic and should not be touched by children or pets. If you happen to come into contact with the sap while handling the plant, wash your hands right away.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
