Euphorbia lactea 'Crested', commonly known as Euphorbia lactea Cristata, is a striking and sculptural succulent admired for its unusual, fan-shaped, wavy crest that resembles coral. This crest forms when the plant experiences a natural mutation causing the growing tip to widen and fold, creating dramatic ridges in shades of green, white, and sometimes pink or purple. Often grafted onto a more stable Euphorbia rootstock like Euphorbia neriifolia for support, it combines both resilience and beauty. Native to tropical Asia, this plant prefers bright, indirect sunlight, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering, as overwatering can quickly lead to root rot. Like all euphorbias, it produces a toxic, milky sap that can irritate the skin and eyes, so care should be taken when handling. Its bold form makes it a standout in succulent collections and modern plant displays.
