Euphorbia knuthii is a dwarf spiny succulent shrublet with a tuberous main root, which continues into a serpentine caudex, freely branched from the top. It is sometimes accompanied by a number of underground rhizomes. It is closely allied to Euphorbia squarrosa, and Euphorbia Schinzii. It blooms in mid to late summer. Maintain consistent watering during the active growing season, ensuring that no water accumulates near the roots. In winter, allow the soil to become mostly dry. While this plant can withstand drought, it is recommended to keep the soil moderately moist during the growing season, watering approximately once per week. In summer, it can also withstand frequent watering. It is hardy in temperatures as low as -6ºC and can even tolerate light snow. (USDA Zones 9-11).

In the early spring, every other year, trim all stems to ground level or to the roots if they are partially exposed. After pruning, let the plant heal for at least one to two weeks before watering. This process promotes the growth of more branches and helps maintain a shorter and more uniform length.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. Be aware that the sap of this plant is toxic and should not be touched by children or pets. If you happen to come into contact with the sap while handling the plant, wash your hands right away.
