Echeveria 'Pulidonis' is a beautiful rosette-forming succulent prized for its powdery blue-green leaves accented by striking red margins. Native to Mexico, this slow-growing species forms symmetrical rosettes that typically reach 5 to 8 inches in diameter, making it an excellent choice for container gardens, rock gardens, succulent arrangements, and windowsill displays. During the spring, mature plants produce tall flower stalks with cheerful yellow, bell-shaped blooms that are lightly touched with red, attracting bees and other pollinators.
This easy-care succulent thrives in full sun to bright indirect light and prefers well-draining, gritty soil. Water thoroughly only when the soil has completely dried out, and reduce watering during the winter months when growth slows. Like most echeverias, Echeveria 'Pulidonis' is highly drought tolerant and performs best when protected from excessive moisture, which can lead to root rot. Its compact size and colorful foliage make it an excellent addition to both indoor and outdoor succulent collections.
Echeveria 'Pulidonis' is considered pet friendly. It is non-toxic to cats, dogs, and horses, making it a safe choice for households with pets. While eating large amounts of the leaves may cause mild digestive upset due to their fibrous nature, the plant does not contain known toxic compounds.
USDA Hardiness Zones: 9–11. In colder regions, Echeveria 'Pulidonis' is best grown in containers that can be brought indoors before freezing temperatures arrive. With its elegant rosette shape, colorful leaf edges, and low-maintenance care requirements, it is a favorite among both beginning and experienced succulent enthusiasts.
