Dorstenia aff foetida 'Grendelion'
Dorstenia aff foetida 'Grendelion'
Dorstenia aff foetida 'Grendelion': This species is highly adaptable, with varying leaf shapes and sizes, as well as petiole and stipule lengths. It is a long-lasting, evergreen or deciduous sub-shrub with a thick, dark green to mahogany-colored stem that can reach a diameter of 15 centimeters and a height of 30-40 centimeters. The stem is often branched and has a conical shape, with older parts displaying peeling bark. In a spiral pattern, the stem shows noticeable and prominent round scars from previous petioles, inflorescences, and stipules. The branches, which can grow up to 1-1.5 cm thick and 15 cm tall, also have distinct markings from previous leaves, inflorescences, and stipules. The leaves are arranged alternately and clustered at the top of the stems and branches. In Oman the tubers of Dorstenia foetida are cooked and eaten.
