Cereus tetragonus, monstrose 'Fairytale Cactus'
Cereus tetragonus, monstrose 'Fairytale Cactus'
The Cereus tetragonus, monstrose 'Fairytale Cactus' hails from North, South, and Central Americas and has a gradual growth pattern that can reach up to 6 feet (2 m.). Its stems consist of five sides, adorned with fluffy spines along each facet. The branches transition from a vivid green to a sturdy brown over time, creating a unique silhouette. While the fairy castle cactus rarely blooms, this is characteristic of the Cereus family as their flowers only appear at night under specific growing conditions. Even then, the large, white flowers may not emerge until the plant reaches ten years of age or older.
Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
