Cereus peruvianus is a fast-growing, columnar cactus admired for its tall, blue-green stems and dramatic architectural presence. Native to South America, this striking species develops pronounced ribs lined with small clusters of spines and can reach impressive heights when grown in the ground in warm climates. It thrives in full sun with well-draining soil and minimal watering, making it an excellent choice for xeriscapes and low-maintenance gardens. Mature plants may produce large, fragrant white flowers that bloom at night, followed by edible, colorful fruit often referred to as Peruvian apple cactus fruit. Its bold vertical form makes it a standout specimen in both landscapes and large containers.
