Austrocephalocereus dybowskii 'Cabega' is a rare and striking columnar cactus native to Brazil, particularly adapted to arid and rocky environments. This variety is known for its tall, slender stems covered in dense, white, hair-like spines and more rigid central spines that provide both protection and a dramatic visual texture. As it matures, Austrocephalocereus dybowskii 'Cabega' may develop a cephalium—a specialized flowering structure—along the side or top of the stem, from which nocturnal flowers may emerge. These white flowers are typically pollinated by bats or moths. This cactus prefers full sun, excellent drainage, and minimal water, thriving in dry conditions. It’s a sought-after species among collectors for its architectural form and rarity.

As compared to other cacti, this species requires a higher amount of water.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt. You will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
