Agave gypsophila gentry 'Blue Wave Agave' is a compact agave with large, fleshy leaves that can grow up to 2 meters in diameter. Its linear, grey leaves are identifiable by the closely-spaced teeth along the wavy margins. These leaves also create a unique "fountain-like" effect. When it does flower, the yellow flowers are held on a tall panicle that can reach up to 3 meters. The plant's name is derived from its native rocky habitat. Its inflorescences are straight or slightly curved and bear small, yellow-orange flowers.
