Agave Celsii 'Multicolor'

Agave celsii ‘Multicolor’ is an attractive, slow-growing succulent that forms a compact rosette of broad, gracefully arching leaves with medium-green centers and creamy-white to pale-yellow margins. In cooler weather or bright sunlight, the foliage may develop beautiful pink or reddish tones, adding extra color and visual interest to the garden. This evergreen agave typically grows about 2–3 feet tall and 2–4 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, drought-tolerant landscapes, and decorative containers. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and requires well-draining soil with minimal watering once established. Agave celsii ‘Multicolor’ is best suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 9b–11, where it can be grown outdoors year-round, though protection from frost is recommended. It is not considered pet-friendly, as ingestion may cause irritation or digestive upset, and its small marginal teeth and sharp leaf tips can injure curious pets. Plant it in a location away from pets and high-traffic areas to enjoy its striking foliage safely.
