Agave americana ‘Variegated’ is a dramatic, large-growing succulent prized for its bold blue-gray leaves accented with creamy yellow margins and striking architectural form. Commonly used as a focal point in desert and Mediterranean-style landscapes, this hardy agave thrives in full sun and well-drained soil while requiring minimal water once established. Its broad, spiny leaves create strong visual texture and can eventually form an impressive rosette several feet wide. Agave americana ‘Variegated’ is not considered pet friendly, as ingestion may be toxic to cats and dogs and the sap can cause skin irritation; the sharp leaf tips and edges can also pose a risk to pets and people if planted near walkways or play areas.
