Thelocactus rinconensis is a striking, globular cactus species native to northeastern Mexico, known for its sculptural form and bold spination. This slow-growing plant typically forms a solitary, flattened to slightly domed sphere with distinct ribs and a grey-green to bluish body. Its most notable feature is the prominent, radial and central spines that range in color from white to reddish-brown, often curving outward in a starburst pattern. In spring to early summer, Thelocactus rinconensis produces beautiful, funnel-shaped flowers in shades of white, pale pink, or lavender, typically with darker midstripes. It prefers full sun, excellent drainage, and minimal watering, making it well-suited for arid gardens, rockeries, and container cultivation.
Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves as it is covered in spines.
