Tephrocactus articulatus ‘Pinecone’ is a highly distinctive cactus known for its segmented, cone-shaped joints that resemble small pinecones stacked loosely on top of one another. Each segment is covered in papery, detachable spines that give the plant a textured, sculptural appearance. Its unusual branching habit makes it a favorite among collectors of rare and architectural succulents. In warm conditions, it may produce delicate white to pale pink flowers that contrast with its rugged form. This drought-tolerant cactus thrives in full sun, well-draining soil, and requires minimal watering.
Pet Friendly: Generally yes. Tephrocactus articulatus ‘Pinecone’ is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. However, its brittle spines and segments can easily detach and cause irritation or injury, so it should be kept out of reach of pets.
