Sempervivum 'Glowing Embers'

Sempervivum 'Glowing Embers' is a stunning succulent with large rosettes of pointed leaves in vibrant shades. These rosettes can reach up to 7 inches (17.5 cm) in diameter and transition from green in spring to glowing orange-red in summer and bronze in winter. In the summer, rose-red, star-shaped flowers bloom in clusters on an upright, leafy stem. After flowering, the rosette will die. To prevent rot, it is recommended to use a layer of gravel top dressing between the soil and the leaves, especially for webbed varieties. Sempervivum primarily grow during the spring and summer and thrive with weekly watering and partial shade in temperatures above 80F. These plants are highly resilient to frost and can withstand winter months under a blanket of snow. However, to prevent rot, it is important to protect them from heavy rains and standing water.
