Opuntia rufida minima ‘Cinnamon Cactus’ is a compact, eye-catching prickly pear known for its warm cinnamon-colored glochids that give the pads a soft, velvety appearance—despite their prickly nature. This dwarf variety stays smaller than the standard form, making it an excellent choice for containers, desert-themed arrangements, or small sunny garden spaces. Hardy and drought-tolerant, it thrives in bright light and well-draining soil, rewarding growers with distinctive pads and occasional cheerful blooms.
Opuntia species have glochids, which are small, barbed bristles that can easily detach from the plant. When shipping, these glochids may become loose in the box and can pierce skin and leather gloves. For safe handling, use tongs.
