Opuntia polyacantha 'Snow Fuzzy'

This shrub cactus, known as Opuntia polyacantha 'Snow Fuzzy', is characterized by its flattened, fuzzy appearance. Each hair resembles a delicate frost, adding to the plant's aesthetic appeal. While initially lacking spines, it eventually develops long ones along with glochids. However, the delightful fuzz remains, making it a desirable addition to arid gardens. The flowers typically display a lemon yellow hue, but may also surprise with bubble gum pink or peach tones.

Opuntia species have glochids, which are small, barbed bristles that can easily detach from the plant. When shipping, these glochids may become loose in the box and can pierce skin and leather gloves. For safe handling, use tongs.
