Notocactus concinnus is a charming, small to medium-sized cactus recognized for its rounded, slightly flattened shape and vibrant green body marked by neat, symmetrical ribs lined with fine, golden spines. Native to South America, it thrives in bright light with well-draining soil and moderate watering during the growing season, making it a relatively easy species to care for. In spring and summer, it can produce eye-catching yellow flowers that bloom near the crown, adding a cheerful pop of color. When it comes to pets, Notocactus concinnus is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs; however, its spines can still cause physical irritation or minor injury, so it’s best kept in a spot that’s out of reach of curious pets.
