Neochilenia coimasensis
Neochilenia coimasensis
Neochilenia coimasensis is a small, globular cactus species native to the arid regions of central Chile. It typically grows as a solitary plant, reaching about 2.5–3 inches (6–8 centimeters) in diameter, with a dark green to brownish epidermis that helps it blend into its rocky surroundings. The cactus features distinct ribs lined with short, curved spines that range in color from white to brown. During the flowering season, it produces striking funnel-shaped blossoms, usually pink to magenta, which contrast beautifully with its muted body tones. Adapted to intense sunlight and minimal rainfall, Neochilenia coimasensis is a resilient and slow-growing species prized by collectors for its compact form and vivid floral display.
