Mammillaria tesopacensis rubriflora
Mammillaria tesopacensis rubriflora
Mammillaria tesopacensis 'Rubriflora' is a captivating variety of cactus native to the arid regions of Sonora, Mexico. It forms small, solitary or clustering cylindrical stems densely covered with white radial spines and darker central spines, giving it a textured, frosted appearance. What sets the 'Rubriflora' form apart is its vivid reddish-pink to deep magenta flowers, which are more intensely colored than the typical species. Blooming in late spring or early summer, the flowers form a ring near the top of the stem, adding a striking contrast to the plant’s spiny surface. Like most Mammillarias, it thrives in full sun, gritty, well-draining soil, and should be watered sparingly, especially in winter. Mammillaria tesopacensis 'Rubriflora' is a true gem for cactus enthusiasts, valued for both its rarity and brilliant floral display.
