The Mammillaria matudae 'Thumb Cactus,' originates from the dry regions of northeastern Mexico. It flourishes in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas states, growing on rocky slopes, hillsides, and within desert scrub landscapes. The Mammillaria matudae is a diminutive, erect, columnar species, usually growing to about 6 inches tall. With time, it develops basal clusters, and its stems lengthen and sprawl out. The stems are characterized by pronounced conical tubercles, which are decorated with short, curved white spines and encircled by longer central spines.
Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
