Hoya obovata is a lush, vining epiphyte native to Southeast Asia, admired for its thick, oval-shaped, deep green leaves that often have a subtle silver flecking. Unlike its ‘Splash’ variety, which has more pronounced speckling, the standard Hoya obovata features a cleaner, more uniform leaf surface, giving it a bold, minimalist aesthetic. It is a member of the Apocynaceae family and is known for its ease of care and occasional production of waxy, star-shaped pink flowers with a sweet fragrance, typically blooming in clusters called umbels. This slow-growing plant thrives in bright, indirect light, well-draining soil, and enjoys slightly dry conditions between waterings. Ideal for hanging baskets or trellises, Hoya obovata is a favorite among collectors and adds an elegant, tropical touch to any indoor space.
