Haworthia maughanii

Haworthia maughanii is a unique and sought-after succulent species native to South Africa, notable for its unusual growth habit and striking leaf structure. Unlike most succulents, its thick, fleshy leaves grow almost entirely underground, with only the translucent, window-like leaf tips exposed above the soil. These flattened, truncated tips allow light to penetrate deep into the leaf, an adaptation to its arid, sun-drenched habitat. The leaves are typically dark green to brownish-green and may feature subtle patterns or lines. Haworthia maughanii grows slowly and forms small rosettes, making it ideal for container cultivation and collectors of rare succulents. It prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil, and it thrives with minimal water, reflecting its desert origins.
