Hamatocactus h. davisii, now more commonly classified as Sclerocactus davisii, is a small, rare cactus native to the arid regions of the southwestern United States, particularly Texas. This slow-growing species forms a squat, globular body covered in dense, hooked spines that help shade it from the intense desert sun. In spring, it produces delicate, funnel-shaped flowers, typically in shades of pink to lavender, adding a surprising splash of color to its otherwise rugged appearance. Adapted to harsh environments, it thrives in rocky, well-drained soils and is extremely drought-tolerant. Due to its rarity and sensitivity to overwatering, it is often grown by experienced collectors who can replicate its native desert conditions.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
