Gymnocalyicium stenogonumi
Gymnocalyicium stenogonumi
Gymnocalycium stenogonum is a small, globular cactus native to South America, prized for its smooth, green to bluish-green body and well-defined ribs lined with short, slightly curved spines. It often produces delicate, pale-colored flowers—typically white or soft pink—that emerge near the crown, adding to its ornamental appeal. This species prefers bright, indirect light, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering, making it a manageable option for cactus enthusiasts of all levels. In terms of pet safety, Gymnocalycium stenogonum is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs; however, its spines can still cause minor injuries or irritation, so it’s best placed where pets cannot easily reach it.
