Gymnocalycium eurypleurum
Gymnocalycium eurypleurum
Gymnocalycium eurypleurum is a small, globular cactus native to Paraguay, known for its attractive form and relatively rare occurrence in cultivation. It typically grows up to about 2.4 inches in diameter and features a dark green to bluish-green body with prominent, rounded ribs and distinct, short spines that lie close to the surface. During the flowering season, it produces beautiful funnel-shaped flowers that range from pale pink to white, often with a pinkish throat, adding to its ornamental appeal. Like other members of the Gymnocalycium genus, Gymnocalycium eurypleurum thrives in well-draining soil, bright but indirect sunlight, and requires minimal watering, making it ideal for collectors and cactus enthusiasts.
