While the spines are soft, handling this plant is still recommended with care.

Its stems trail or cascade, making it an ideal option for hanging baskets or as a trailing addition to gardens or indoor areas. The tubular flowers of the Rat Tail cactus come in various shades, including pink, violet-red, or purple. These blooms usually emerge in late spring or early summer and can last for multiple weeks.
