These leaves may turn a purplish hue during times of drought and stress. This evergreen succulent shrublet is known for its robust growth and can form large clumps from its ground-level branches. Its stems are robust and fleshy, reaching up to 1 meter in length and 1-2 cm in diameter. The leaves are opposite or subopposite, sessile, and usually erect, with a powdery waxy coating that helps reflect sunlight and conserve water.
