Aloe claviflora also known as 'Kraal Aloe' is a distinctive species of aloe native to arid regions of southern Africa, particularly in Namibia and parts of South Africa. This succulent is known for its unique growth habit, forming dense, ground-hugging rosettes that often spread horizontally along the soil, sometimes creating large, clumping colonies. Its thick, fleshy leaves are typically a dull green to bluish hue, edged with small teeth, and may develop reddish tones under stress. One of its most striking features is its flower stalks, which curve outward and upward, bearing clusters of tubular, orange to red flowers that attract pollinators like sunbirds and insects. Adapted to desert conditions, Aloe claviflora requires well-drained soil, full sun, and minimal water, making it well-suited for rock gardens and xeriscapes.
