Agave victoriae-reginae 'Queen Victoria'
The Queen Victoria agave, also known as the royal agave, is a small succulent perennial plant with white streaks on its geometrically-shaped leaves. It is frequently used as an ornamental due to its smooth, thick, and spineless leaves that form a perfectly spherical rosette. The edges of each leaf are adorned with a "hand-painted" white border and a small final spine. After about 10 years of growth, the mature plant will produce a magnificent 15 ft. (5m) flowering spike with dense clusters of creamy-white flowers. Unfortunately, the flowering rosette will die after this event and will need to be replaced since it does not usually produce offsets. Although slow-growing, this unique agave is an excellent choice for sunny borders or containers.
