Agave 'Shark Skin' is a striking hybrid agave known for its distinctive texture and architectural form. A cross between Agave ferdinandi-regis and Agave scabra, this cultivar features smooth, tough, gray-green leaves that resemble the rough skin of a shark—hence the name. The leaves are rigid, with a sculptural quality, and end in sharp terminal spines, but lack the prominent marginal teeth found on many other agaves. Agave 'Shark Skin' forms a symmetrical rosette and typically stays compact, making it ideal for containers or modern xeriscape designs. It thrives in full sun with minimal water, showcasing excellent drought tolerance and a refined, contemporary appearance.
