'Electrode Cactus' or Ferocactus histrix is a single, sturdy barrel cactus with a thick layer of sharp spines. Its green stem has 20-40 pointed ridges, covered in toothpick-like spines that change from gold to brown as it matures. This cactus produces bright yellow flowers at the top of its stem, which then turn into fruit that bursts open with juice and seeds. It is found in Central Mexico and can grow up to 3.6 feet tall and 31 inches wide at full maturity.
Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, and you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.
