Uebelmannia pectinifera

This is a solitary cactus measuring 50 cm (-80 cm) in height. It typically displays a dark reddish-green to reddish-brown color, adorned with off-white scales. Its coloring is influenced by sun exposure, with specimens grown in shadow appearing green with white stripes, while those in full sun taking on a dark frost brown or purple hue. Its flowers, which are diurnal and funnel-shaped, are a greenish-yellow color and measure 15 mm in length and 12 mm in diameter. They bloom sporadically from early spring to late summer. For optimal growth, this tropical cactus requires warm, moist, and humid conditions, and regular mist spraying during the summer months is recommended.
