Sinocrassula yunnanensis 'Chinese Jade"
Sinocrassula yunnanensis 'Chinese Jade"
Native to regions of Asia near the Tropic of Cancer, Sinocrassula Yunnanensis 'Chinese Jade' is a distinct and compact succulent. Its delicate, pointed leaves darken under the sun's rays and the monocarpic rosettes produce delicate white to yellow flowers. Ranging from USDA zones 7a-11b, this plant has also been given names like 'Chocolate Balls' and 'Hedgehog' due to its small size and rosette leaf arrangement. The color may vary from dark green to dark chocolate, with short, cylindrical, and sharp-pointed leaves. The appearance of Sinocrassula Yunnanensis can be influenced by its environment; full sun results in shorter, stubbier leaves and tight rosettes, while shadier areas lead to longer, spread-out leaves and more open rosettes. Typically growing up to 5cm in height and width, individual rosettes are always small, but the plant can form large clumps.
