Opuntia monacantha monstruosa variegata
Opuntia monacantha monstruosa variegata, also known as "Joseph's Coat," is a white-variegated cactus with a columnar shape originating from South America. This tree-like plant, belonging to the Cactaceae family, can reach heights of up to 20 feet and is one of the cacti species found in nature. It enters a period of dormancy during the winter months and is known for its fast growth.
Opuntia species have glochids, which are small, barbed bristles that can easily detach from the plant. When shipping, these glochids may become loose in the box and can pierce skin and leather gloves. For safe handling, use tongs.
