Gymnocalycium rotundulum
Gymnocalycium rotundulum
This plant exhibits a tan-red coloring when exposed to full sun. It blooms throughout the spring and fall seasons and thrives in either full sun or full shade. Additionally, the spines provide minimal defense. When cultivating and propagating this species, there are no significant challenges. During the summer, water regularly (but avoid overwatering). In the winter, keep the plant relatively dry and maintain a minimum temperature of 0°C. It can tolerate frost if kept dry (hardy to -5°C).
Sun tolerance: partial shade. Although it can handle bright conditions, it may experience sunburn or stunted growth if exposed to direct sunlight during the hottest hours of summer. This plant requires ample space for its roots and should be repotted every other year or when its pot becomes too small. This particular species is known for its ease and adaptability.
