Aeonium simsii
Aeonium simsii
Aeonium simsii, also known as Sims Aeonium, is a compact succulent with dense, low-growing branches and rosettes of bright green leaves. The leaves are strap-shaped and have pointed tips, with short dark green dashes on the lower surface and a maroon line with translucent white hairs on the upper surface. In late spring, the plant produces eye-catching clusters of bright yellow flowers on a stout reddish stalk, attracting bees and butterflies to the garden. This hardy Aeonium can withstand moderate frosts and temperatures as low as 20°F, making it a great choice for groundcover with attractive foliage and showy flowers.
