Hoya kerrii 'Sweetheart Plant' (often playfully misspelled as 'Sweatheart') is widely recognized for its charming, heart-shaped leaf, which is often sold as a single, rooted cutting. This thick, fleshy leaf is bright green, sometimes with variegation, and symbolizes love and affection—making it a popular gift, especially around Valentine's Day. While the single leaf is adorable, it typically won’t grow into a full vine unless it includes part of the stem or node. The full plant, when mature, becomes a trailing or climbing vine with multiple heart-shaped leaves and, eventually, clusters of star-shaped, fragrant flowers. Hoya kerrii prefers bright, indirect light, minimal watering, and well-draining soil, making the leaf both a cute and easy-care introduction to the world of hoyas.
